Drake, Major Lazer and Justin Bieber get called out by Sean Paul for not respecting Dancehall Culture

Many songs, including Drakes hit “One Dance” have been highly influenced by Jamaican dancehall music. Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, and Drake haven’t ever given Jamacian culture recognition and people aren’t happy about it. “It is a sore point when [those and other artists] come and do dancehall-orientated music but don’t credit where dancehall came from,” Paul told The Guardian.

Drake responded with “Sean Paul doesn’t know how much work I put into my songs. They are my songs and only Drizzy can come up with beats like that. Dancehall copied me.”

Sean Paul has yet to comment.
